Instructions
Vehicles may be registered or re-reregistered with the Tax Collector. Payment may be made by cash or check.
For new registrations, please arrive at least 30 minutes before closing.
Remember to bring with you:
Proof of insurance
Mileage of vehicle(s) to be registered
Old registration
For a trailer, only the old registration is needed.
For a vehicle purchased from a dealer, you will also need the bill of sale, title application, and the window sticker (if it is a new vehicle).
For a vehicle acquired through a private sale, in addition to mileage and insurance, you will need a bill of sale that includes the date of sale, names of both the buyer and the seller, and the VIN, year, make and model of the vehicle.

Online Registration Renewals
The following may renew their vehicle registration online:
Registrants with an excise-taxable vehicle who live in Edgecomb.
Registrants with a commercial or passenger vehicle.
Registrants with a non-taxable trailer.
The following cannot be renewed online:
 Island use, emergency/coach, vehicles over 12,000 pounds GVW, apportioned, special mobile equipment, tractors, and municipal and state vehicles.
