TOWN OF EDGECOMB SCHMID ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES
November 16, 2006, Town Hall
The chairman called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Board members present were Andy Abello, Jo Cameron, Bob Leone, Deborah Sondergaard, Janet Blevins and Betty Twarog were also present. There was no public input.
Bob Leone will check with Fran or Claudia about the carryover from the previous year which did not appear on the summary of accounts given to the committee by the Selectmen.
Bob Leone will contact the owner of the land abutting the right-of-way where committee members have been parking.
Barry Johnston has left another picnic table for the preserve at Bob Leone's. Bob will try to get it to the preserve over the weekend.
Jo Cameron said she had lost three larch trees to an obnoxious sawfly. She advised watching the larch trees as well as hemlock and oak trees in the Schmid Preserve and calling an arborist if necessary.
Jo Cameron asked whether the Haggett field would be available for the Fort Edgecomb bicentennial activities. A children's play day, a rustic banquet and bowling on the green were mentioned as possible events. Bob Leone said the only problem might be access, as four-wheel drive vehicles would be necessary to reach the field. The Committee suggested Middle Road field because of easier access.
