Nancy Bither will lead us through the Penny Lake preserve to see American Woodcocks perform their fascinating courtship displays. Meet at the Penny Lake kiosk and parking area. Bring binoculars! Call 633-4818 if you're not sure when dusk is.

For the Planning Board's two 3-year positions we can choose among Anne Peaslee, Jarryl Larson and Barry Hathorne. Thank you all! Uncontested positions are Town Treasurer and Town Clerk Claudia Coffin, Tax Collector Lee Smith, Road Commissioner Scott Griffin and School Board member Steve Ward.

And on the same theme, here is a little Edgecomb quiz: Where will the Town Meeting be held? Answer next week. For extra points, when? And for an unofficial lottery with $0 prize, how many will come?

Now that the second April snowstorm has come and gone (a mere 2 inches as opposed to the 12 inches deposited April 4 at the Cameron back door), and the power has gone and come, and the Easter gathering of the Cameron Clan has come and gone, maybe columns, and a lot else of daily life, will get back on schedule. Desperately shoveling for snowdrops at 234 River Road, 633-2978, jocam@midcoast.com. This column appears in several local papers, and at www.Edgecomb.org.
