Come all ye parents of Boothbay Region High School students, particularly juniors and seniors, listen and attend! There are still places available in several of the Community College Courses offered for college credit in the Boothbay region. These courses have full college credit and are transferable to any college to which your child may apply. Further, these courses are at a very significant financial saving! Tuition for high school seniors is discounted 50% automatically. For other students, financial aid can be arranged. However, in all cases, the student him/herself is responsible for fees and books. These facts cannot be emphasized enough!

Meanwhile, it's back to business for area elementary and secondary school. I understand that the entire Edgecomb Eddy School shares a social studies curriculum, this year devoted to American History. Ann Poole and several others are discussing forming a kind of Junior Edgecomb Historical Society as an extracurricular activity, to encourage the kids to explore their own home turf for what it has to tell us all about our ancestors and their worlds.
Just back from returning grandson Ben Klemme to his parents in Connecticut, and a pleasant most-of-three-days visit with said parents. We came back by way of a portion of the Connecticut Wine Trail, wineries in Guilford, Stonington and North Stonington, then to I-395 to get to the old familiar homeward routes. A glorious day for a drive.
