Come and meet Midcoast Cohousing! They will be hosting a meeting at the Edgecomb Town Hall on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. to introduce us to their plans for their proposed community on Salt Marsh Cove Road off the River Road [NOTE: Address corrected on web posting]. They will give us an overview of the cohousing concept, discuss their ideas for the River Road community and how it will fit to the larger community of Edgecomb. Questions from the public will be welcome! For more information, call 633-0417.

Louise Hardina reports on the progress made toward the Edgecomb Congregational Church's new thrift shop. The space, formerly a kitchen, has been cleaned out and at date of writing about halfway painted. Shelves and rods will shortly be put in place. By October, Louise should be ready to receive donations of adult and children's clothing. She will need help in sorting and displaying them toward the end of October. Opening date is tentatively early November. Watch this space!

Labor Day beer and soda bottles piling up? Don't forget your friendly Edgecomb Fire Department! Rinse them out (please!) and drop them (gently!) into the wire basket outside the fire station on your ways to and fro! Money from recycled bottles and cans goes to the Fire Auxiliary to pay for things not covered in the Town's budget for the Department.
