Welcome home, the good ship Danza! Manned by David Nutt, Judy Sandick, and young David, Sarah, Jasper and Charlotte of Goah Way off the River Road, she is returning amid big hoopla from her 5-year circumnavigation of the world! Come see her ride in at the Boothbay Harbor Town Landing on Saturday, June 11, at 1:00 p.m.
Helen Weld of Salt Marsh Cove Road and Yungaburra, Australia, who sent me the above news item, and her family, Robert Strachan, Ian, Annie and Will, will also be around and about for a few weeks over the summer. They are looking forward to catching up with friends and neighbors.
June is Graduation Month. Congratulations to all our local high school seniors who are about to step out into the world of wider options: college, work, Wanderjahren, or all of the above. In particular, cheers to our niece Chelsea Cameron, over the river in Pemaquid, who graduated in Lincoln Academy's Class of 2005. Bruce was proud to hand her her diploma, a privilege given to L.A. Trustees related to graduates.
Noted Edgecombites at the L.A. Alumni Banquet last Saturday: Bud and Evelyn [CORRECTION: Beverly] Potter on the Boothbay Road, Bob Reed on the Merry Island Road, new graduate Ruth Langton and her mother Beth on the Cross Point Road, and yours truly and spouse. I will not be surprised to learn there were others from Edgecomb at the dinner. Please let me know!
Glad to see that big yellow ball up in the sky. I was beginning to wonder if it were a solar myth! Frantically planting seedlings at 234 River Road, 633-2978, bonesukl@midcoast.com. This column appears in several local papers, and at www.Edgecomb.org.
