Lincoln County News

Wiscasset Newspaper

Edgecomb author Lea Wait will be speaking to the Lincoln County Historical Association, on Sunday, Feb. 29, at 2:00 p.m. in the County Communications Center, Wiscasset. Ms. Wait, who writes both the "Antique Prints" series of detective stories and a number of historical juveniles set in 19th-century Wiscasset, will talk abut "Currier & Ives: Myths in American Culture."

Nothing much stirring in Edgecomb these days, it seems, except our 21 turkeys, several of which have just sprouted immense bushy bin Laden-style beards from the middles of their chests! My sister Anni reports from her job that the Marin County (CA) Animal Shelter currently has three huge turkeys which she has named Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter. "My veggie friends are not amused."
