Edgecomb residents will be glad to know that the transfer of our beloved Old Eddy School to the Eldercare Network is a done deal! In due course, the building will provide affordable apartments for the able elderly. Not guaranteed, of course, but preference will be given to Edgecomb applicants.
I'm sure that Dick Day's talk on "Bambi and the Maine Woods", Sunday, Feb. 15, will strike a chord in many of us older residents, Edgecomb or not! It is about his father, Maurice Day, and the choice of setting for Disney's beloved film. I can remember standing in line in the pre-Christmas cold at the Lincoln Theatre to see it, and I remain under the impression (although I've been told I'm wrong) that the Damariscotta showing was the film's world premier. Yes? No? Day's talk is a part of the Lincoln County Historical Association's series on Maine and Mythology, at 2:00 p.m., in the County Communications Center, Wiscasset.

On Tuesday, Feb. 17, the Morris Farm, in cooperation with The Rising Tide Food Co-op, will launch its impressive series on "Food for Thought." This talk will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Morris Farm on the Gardiner Road (Route 27, North). Other topics in this series include "Organic Labeling."
