Okay, road spellers. It is official. ENGLEBREKT is the way to spell
the road. Can't argue with the Registry of Probate. And speaking
of roads, Route 27, along the dangerous Mason Road stretch, now
has reflector chevrons to mark the curve, compliments of MDOT.
Saturday, around noon, we learned of an accident up the hill from
234 River Road. A big CMP cherry-picker truck was stationed in our
driveway while the site was investigated Drivers never take that
hill seriously, and lately along its curve, the surface has heaved
and shaken so it is practically ruffled! Yesterday, while we were
stuffing ourselves at the Great Pizza Challenge at Cook's Corner,
another accident occurred just across from us. In this "Little
Winter," please, everyone, drive very carefully!

The morning after Christmas 2002, Bob and Cyndy Brown drove out
of their driveway and took 14,580 miles to get back to it! They
went through every one of the 47 southern states except Rhode Island
(now, why did they skip Little Rhody?), visiting stately homes and
plantations, national parks and preserves, battleships and casinos
(did not come back millionaires). Bob reports that the fastest way
to go around Houston is the Sam Houston Tollway, but it is also
the most expensive. (Gee, I coulda told him that!) But going around
the Loop, aka I-610, took them an hour to go 7 miles. (I coulda
told him that, too!) I wonder if they might have passed the Angus
Kings along the way?
