Stuart Smith, Edgecomb's
webmaster, has set up a list server for the town. People can join
the service by sending an email to listserv@edgecomb.org with "SUBSCRIBE
edgecomb- news" in the message of the email. They can then send
an email to edgecomb- news@edgecomb.org and it will be sent to all
people on the subscription list. People will be able to subscribe
and unsubscribe at will. This will help in getting the 'word' out
to everyone!
A public Lobster Dinner
will be served at the Edgecomb Congregational Church, Saturday,
June 29, 5 to 7 p.m., to benefit the church's community mission
program at H.O.M.E. (Homeworkers Organized for More Employment)
in Orland, to build homes for low income families. Lobster $12.00;
chicken $8.00 plus corn, salads, beans, blueberry cake, rolls, coffee
and punch. For more information, call Bob Hardina at 563-5236.
Damariscotta has voted
to support Lincoln Academy's Capital Campaign, making it the fourth
town to endorse the school's ambitious building project. Others
are Bristol, South Bristol and Bremen. Edgecomb at last count had
six young people enrolled in L.A. This gives us a stake in the Academy's
future. The capital campaign is on-going for five years. It is hoped
that towns which have not yet supported the campaign will jump on
the bandwagon.
Duncan Slade on the River
Road reports baby bluebirds!
Charlie and Cheryl Armstrong
on the River Road report a moose colt wandering around the forsythia
bushes. Bruce and I chased around, but never caught a glimpse of
it!
Panting heavily, I subside
at 234 River Road, bonesukl@midcoast.com and 633-2978.
