TOWN OF EDGECOMB MINUTES OF THE EDGECOMB UTILITY DISTRICT COMMITTEE
January 16, 2007; 6:30 P.M.
Attended: Joe McSwain, Bruce Cameron, Frank Perkins, Bob Zak and Steve Levi of the Maine Rural Water Association
Discussion with Steve about utility district pros and cons. The Committee decided to go forward with this. To do so, we have to create an agenda, create a five-person board. The first board is to be appointed, then elected thereafter as follows: 1 member for one year, 2 members for two years, 2 members for 3 years as State has mandated. The district is to be called the Edgecomb Utility District and it is to encompass the whole Town of Edgecomb.
This goes before the legislature to be approved and has to be put to a Town vote within three years for acceptance. We will have a report for the Annual Town Report to inform voters of our intentions. We were given a set of rules and regulations to go over and change what he do or do not like to fit our Town, and will have a Committee meeting to go over our ideas and then have Steve Levi back to finalize them.
Adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
