TOWN OF EDGECOMB MINUTES OF THE SELECTMEN'S MEETING

MINUTES of December 19 & 21, 2005: approved as read.

  1. CORRESPONDENCE:
    1. MMA, Basic Municipal Budgeting Workshop: Jo and Frank will attend
    2. Maine Animal Control Officer Association materials: referred to ACO
    3. FAME, poster: posted on downstairs Town Hall wall
    4. DEP, pier approval, Sheepscot River Inn: referred to CEO
    5. The Scrap Paper, publication: referred to BRRDD rep.
    6. Maine Resource Recovery Association: referred to BRRDD rep
    7. Jail meeting notice: arrived too late
    8. U.S. bankruptcy court notice: referred to Treasurer
    9. American Red Cross, request for funding: Jo will call to advise about need for petitions
    10. PowerOptions: tabled
    11. Copy, MDOT to Wiscasset in re Bypass: noted
    12. Coastal Economic Development, request for $1,000 funding with petitions: referred to Treasurer
    13. Coastal Trans, request for $500 funding with petitions: referred to Treasurer
    14. MMA Property Casualty Pool materials: referred to Frank
    15. MMA dues and service program: Selectmen voted to accept this dues for payment; to be paid on Warrant #15.
  1. OLD BUSINESS:
    1. Boat Landing Committee: Leighton Surveyors will begin search for Weir Point
    2. Waldo Dodge Fund: Jo and Frank will identify MLM expenses for reimbursement from CED
    3. Baptist Cemetery: Jo will arrange a meeting with representatives from the Maine Old Cemetery Association and the Edgecomb Historical Society, Tom Peaslee and the Reverend Gary Harvey to discuss questions of responsibility toward this cemetery.
  2. NEW BUSINESS:
    1. Dirk Poole announced that the School Committee's next meeting will be open to the public, February 7 at 6:30 p.m., to discuss middle school and high school options and busing of secondary school students. The principals of Wiscasset MS, Boothbay Region MS and Great Salt Bay MS have been invited.
  3. OTHER BUSINESS:
    1. Selectmen's meeting with Paul Gibbons, Jim Fitch and Eric Stumpfel will be Tuesday, January 17 at 5:30 p.m.
  4. WARRANT:

    #14 = $34,434.37. Note that Warrant #15 will be processed for the January 16 Selectmen's meeting.
